After graduating from Purdue University in 2003, Steve continued the family tradition and joined Caton Commercial Real Estate Group, working alongside his father Bill and the growing team of brokers. Initially specializing in retail and industrial leasing, he soon became qualified in sales, income-producing assets, and eventually developer services. Securing favorable terms on behalf of his clients, whether they are property owners, corporate developers, or business owners, remains a constant professional goal for Steve as he negotiates deals.
When significant changes affected the real estate industry in 2008, Steve expanded his services to work with major banks on their REO assets. Over the years, he has collaborated with numerous national, regional, and local banks to include Wells Fargo, MB Financial, First Community Bank of Plainfield, First Merit Bank, Marquette Bank, Princeton National, and numerous other banks in the Southwest suburbs.
Steve brings a unique understanding of the commercial real estate market around Plainfield, having represented major corporate clients, from McDonald’s and Walgreen’s, to Road Ranger and Circle K. Experience as a past partner and owner for a restaurant and daycare further allows Steve to understand the real estate needs of business owners. Steve maintains an active presence local economic committees and several professional organizations (NICAR, CCIM candidate), keeping him and the Caton team up-to-date on significant industry developments.
Outside of putting deals together, Steve enjoys photography, travelling, rock climbing, volunteering, spending time with his family, riding his bike, and playing guitar. Steve is also a board member of New Life for Haiti, a volunteer based non-for-profit dedicated to rebuilding poverty stricken regions of Haiti.
